I have not modified the code in any way, although I have repacked the  release to make CSC selection possible.

Usually Odin3 images are provided in a single integrated .tar package  which contain all of the necessary files. This way the CSC cannot be  selected separately.

That is why I splitted the release in three different parts (CODE,  MODEM, CSC).
Since Odin3 has flashfile checksum support I also added md5 hash tail to  the .tar files. This way is more secure because Odin will not allow  flashing corrupted images. Flashing takes a bit longer thou because the  checksums are checked in the beginning of the update process.

You need to download two files.

I know this is not nearly all of the excisting variants, but repacking  the softwares is quite a slow process for certain reasons. I have access  to pretty much any Samsung firmware, so if you find a variant missing  you can send me pm. I can have a look.

Extract the downloaded .rar archives to the same folder.
The archives are contain .tar.md5 files. Do not open them with Winrar  for example. They are compressed Odin images which do not need  unpacking.


So how to proceed:

Put your phone to download mode (hold down: volume down, home key,  power)

DO NOT plug in your phone yet, Odin / driver does not like it at this  stage.

Start Odin3

Tick "Re-Partition", check that "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" have  been ticked.

Click "PIT" button and select s1_odin_20100512.pit file.

Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button... <Firmware update start...> <Get PIT for  mapping...> appear. The phone will turn off and the screen indicates  "Reset". Wait until Odin indicates "Pass".

Plug out your phone, remove the battery, put it back in and put phone to  download mode again.

Click "Reset" button in Odin and untick "Re-Partition" box.

DO NOT select PIT file again.

Click "PDA" button and select "CODE_I9000XWJM7.tar.md5" file.
Click "MODEM" button and select "MODEM_I9000XXJM3.tar.md5" file.
Click "CSC" button and select the desired version  "CSC_I9000???JM?.tar.md5".

Plug in the phone and wait until Odin finds it.
Click "Start" button and wait until phone reboots with the new software  version.

When using *Multi CSC* you need to type *#272*????# after the flash  (in dialer). ???? being the current time displayed by phone. For example  if the time is currently 6.25pm you need to type *#272*0625#. Then  select the desired CSC version from the list and press "Install".

**Read this if you are downgrading from I9000XXJPC rom**

Requirements: Rooted phone, "Root Explorer" (or similar), .nv_data.bak  and .nv_data.bak.md5 files (PRIOR the date of I9000XXJPC release).

Because I9000XXJPC rom rewrites certain thing in the permanent memory  area of the phone, certain things CAN occur when you downgrade  the phone to <I9000XXJPC firmware. It is possible that there will not  be any problems at all, but if there is read below.

Possible problems (I had them all due trying different thing to  solve it):

IMEI "corruption".
nv_data.bin checksum does not pass the check and the phone / baseband  generates a new blank one. Baseband test IMEI (000xxxxxxxxxxxx) will be  displayed.

No service.
There is no service even a functional SIM card is inserted.
You cannot receive or make calls, receive or send sms, etc (obviously).

Freeze / lock-down.
The phone will not react to anything besides pressing power key.
You cannot unlock the display to enter PIN code.

Wrong PIN code.
The phone will not accept any PIN code on any SIM (even the correct one ).
Phone displays "wrong PIN code" message even the try counter (three  strikes you know) does not change.

Product code changed to KOR.
= Blocked Kies updates (without a registry "hack")

Here is how to fix any or all of them:

Downgrade to I9000XWJM7 firmware with Odin (as usual).

Remove SIM card from the phone (to be able to boot in first place) and  start the phone.

Gain root access and install "Root Explorer" (or similar), ADB works  too.

Open Root Explorer and go to the "EFS" folder in the root.

Check the date on .nv_data.bak and .nv_data.bak.md5 files.
If it is earlier than 08/26/2010 you´re clear, if it is later then you  may stop reading.

Once the date has been checked, select files nv_data.bin and  nv_data.bin.md5 simultaneously and delete (yes, delete) them. Reboot the  phone.

Now your phone is in the same condition (atleast permanent memory wise)  as it was prior I9000XXJPC update.

There is a safety feature I would call "a dead mans switch".
If the current nv_data files are deleted, the phone will make new  nv_data files from the .bak (backup) files (if they excist). The new  nv_data files will be signed automatically so they pass the checks (none  of the errors listed above will occur). However if they do not excist,  the phone will just write an empty / test file (= IMEI corrupted, no  service, etc). Also if you just rename .bak files they will have wrong  signatures and the same problems will occur.

Por lo que leo, no hay nada nuevo, simplemente ha reempaquetado la rom para que el odin pueda hacer el chequeo md5 que antes no se podía,de forma que se evita flashear roms corruptas .

Pido disculpas si estoy posteando en el lugar equivocado, soy nuevo aquí.

Resulta que hace un par de días adquirí un Samsung Salaxy S (gt-i9000t) americano, o sea bandas 850/1900.

Resulta que he leído mucho para colocar roms, hacer root, colocar la beta de froyo y demás.

Pero tengo una gran duda que me tiene frenado a hacer todas esas cosas, mas que nada lo de flashear.

Aquí veo que hablan de firms I9000XWJM7 por dar un ejemplo ya que es el de este hilo, o sea, la nomenclatura seria I9000????? verdad?
Bueno si yo en mi teléfono aprieto *#1234* me sale esta info.

PDA: I9000TUBJG5
PHONE: I9000TUBJG7
CSC: I9000TUUBJG4

Entonces no se si los firms que colocan aquí como el de este hilo me sirven o corro algún riesgo grave o quedarme sin cobertura de las bandas 3g de america o algun otro problema (obviamente me refiero a riesgos por colocar estos firms, no por hacer el proceso de forma erronea)

Siempre flashee mis mobiles por lo cual estoy en el tema, aunque con android soy nuevo y estoy aprendiendo.

Creo que es diferente, para tu celular tendria que ser I9000TXXXXX, pero dinos que modelo es exactamente, ya que los americanos seria el Samsung Galaxy Captative o Samsung Galaxy Vibrant, que son los hermanos americanos del Samsung Galaxy S, ya buscaré información si se puede usar estas rom's para tu celular

Cuando enciende dice GT-I9000T y en las opciones>>> acerca del teléfono también.

Leyendo por ahi no recuerdo donde lo vi, un apersona con el mismo que yo lo flasheo con el firm europeo y se quedo sin la banda del 3g 850. luego coloca la canadiense y se soluciono.

Luego flasheo a la europea pero no flasheo el CSC y parece que le esta andando bien.

Pero ante la aduda yo prefiero consultar los que tienen mas experiencia con este mobil.

Por otro lado no logo rootear el mobil

Coloco el update.zip arranco en modo recovery y le doy a aplicar update.zip me sale algo asi

(Status 7)
Instalation aborted.

Pues habia intentado en base al tutorial de lso dos metodos, el primero no me funciono, porngo el update y me sale el error que mencione.
Y el metodo 2 no me anime por el tema de flashear la csc, no sea cosa que pierda las bandas de 3g de america.

Si eso no se compromete pues ahi si me animo.

Que cambia si flasheo la csc con la del metodo 2?

Pues lo del lag fix no pude hacerlo al no poder rootear.

Pues si que es raro que no te deje, has mirado bien que esté en la SD "interna", cuando dice sdcard, no quiere decir que esté en la tarjeta MicroSD, sino en la Tarjeta SD interna, el de 8 Gb, si es allí donde te equivocaste, pues copia el archivo Update en la tarjeta interna, y otra cosa, copialo tal como viene el archivo Update, no ponga la extensión .zip

simplemente las letras del i 9000 son por el sistema que viene en el pack como la mayoria de los samsung,de todas formas no se cual es la referencia de la libre pero quizas en la oficial de samsung puedas encontrarla o por foros.por ejemplo las letras XWJM7 dhacen referencia al año y mes de software y actualizaciones que han ido variando en dicho firm.

Si me asegure de hacerlo en la memoria interna, es mas, lo hice sin colocar ninguna tarjeta de memoria externa, o sea, sin colocar microsd.

Corrobore también la extensión, no lo renombre, lo use tal cual lo baje, de todas formas uso el windows para que me muestre las extensiones.

Es raro, pero me da ese error cuando quiero hacerlo con el metodo uno.

Ahora con el metodo 2, que puede pasar que hace ese csc? ya que no quiero perder las bandas ni nada, y como no tengo root no puedo hacer backup completo del firmware.
Ya que mi idea es rootear para poder probar otros firmwares y si sale mal, tengo backup del firm tal cual me vino el telefono.
Es valido esto que quiero hacer?

Por otro lado no encontre info sobre el modelo I9000T.
Solo pude ver en samsung firmwares en base a la nomenclatura desglosada de las letras de mi firm correpsonderia a.

J= Año 2010
G= Mes Julio
5=Version (no se bien que seria este punto)
